Chris Hasling joined Box Financial Advisors in September 2014. He began his career in financial services while attending college at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. After graduating in December 2004, Chris pursued his mission to connect business owners and high net worth individuals with their hopes, goals, and dreams by developing customized and independent financial plans. In furthering that mission, Chris has obtained several professional designations including CFP® - Certified Financial Planner, CAP® - Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy, ChFC® - Chartered Financial Consultant, and CLU® - Chartered Life Underwriter, and AIF® - Accredited Investment Fiduciary.
Chris is committed to the professional and ethical advancement of the financial services profession and regularly attends meetings with various industry associations - National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA ), Twin Cities Estate Planning Council, and Financial Planning Association.
Chris is also involved in numerous community activities. Chris currently serves as Chairman for the 17 member Mercy Hospital Foundation Board of Directors leading the fundraising and grant giving efforts of the local hospital. His passion for healthy, educated, and thriving communities is why he stays so involved.
Chris and his wife Niomi continue supporting the Panther Foundation where he once Chaired that non-profit board of directors. The Panther Foundation is a successful fundraising Board whose mission is to empower and support world class learning in Spring Lake Park Schools.
Chris is also an active member of the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce. In cooperation with other chamber leaders, Chris was part of the group that brought quarterly business council meetings to the city of Blaine. Chris recently accepted the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Business award for Small Business on behalf of Box Financial Advisors. Watch a brief video highlighting Chris as the recipient of the award. Prior to joining MetroNorth, Chris was a member of the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce. During nine years of membership with TwinWest, Chris chaired the Annual Fundraising Gala Committee in 2009 and 2010.
Chris is a member of the Blaine/Ham Lake Rotary Club. Chris became a Rotarian in February 2011 due to his agreement with the Rotary motto – "Service Above Self" – and their mission – "Do Good in the World". Chris served as the Blaine/Ham Lake Rotary President for the 2013-2014 year.
Chris and his family live in Blaine. Chris finds his greatest enjoyment in spending time with Niomi and their children - daughter Addyson (age 5) and son Bentley (age 7). Chris serves as Cub Master for Cub Scout Pack 714 in Blaine. He enjoys scout activities with Bentley. Bentley raced his way into 3rd place in his first Pinewood Derby. Chris and Bentley are looking forward to upcoming camping experiences.
Chris also enjoys water skiing and running races of all distances. In May 2018 Chris will again run a trail race on the Superior Hiking Trail, and June 2018 he will run Grandmas Marathon in Duluth. Between road race marathons, ultra-trail runs, and triathlons Chris is usually training for something.
